Self-portrait, London, 2008

My last day in the UK in November, I trekked through London on what the Mouse would call “an urban photo safari”. Little did I know when I took this photo in the window of a closed travel bureau that British Airways had a surprise in store for me at Heathrow later that day – they had cancelled my ticket. Fortunately, I managed to get back on my flight on stand-by.

Dawn

Winchester Cathedral, as the first light hits it, taken through the window of my hotel room. It struck me that the dawn light has struck this building in this way for the last 900 years, give or take. Depending on the weather, of course.

Bob’s Room

Bob's room, looking into the hallway

This room was my brother Bob’s when I was in high school. Later, after we had both moved away, Mom redecorated this room as a guest room, and insisted that I use it when I came to stay. I took this after the movers had gone. Mom left the bed for the new owner.
